South Korea presidential runner Park apologises for father

Presidential hopeful Park Geun-hye, the daughter of South Korea's former leader Park Chung-hee, has apologised for human rights violations committed during her father's rule.

Ms Park is the ruling party candidate for presidential elections in December.

Her father seized power in a military coup in 1961 and ruled until he was assassinated by his spy chief in 1979.

He boosted the economy but was accused of ruthlessly crushing dissent, delaying democratic development.

My reaction is fuck you Park! She's a power hungry woman who wants to become President of Korea. She lost in the GNP primary in 2005 to Lee Myoung-bak (aka Ferretface) who is a conservative bastard. The only reason she is apologizing is because she knows her father's atrocities are going to prevent her from being elected.

I strongly believe she knew what was going on while she played princess at her daddy's side.

I'm hoping now that Anh-cheol-soo has entered the race, he'll win.

(by the way I live in South Korea and have followed Korean politics since I came here in 2004, with an obviously strong opinion about it)
