A surprise wedding gift: Obama offers seal of approval, best wishes

URBANDALE, Iowa (AP) — A couple in this Des Moines suburb booked the barn at Living History Farms six months ago for their Sept. 1 wedding, but a week before the ceremony they were told a special visitor was also going to be there that day.

Sayli Gibbs said she guessed it was the president of the United States, and she feared it would ruin the wedding.

It was, indeed, Barack Obama, but his political event ended on time, and Jon and Sayli Gibbs got the wedding they wanted.
