Palestinians condemn Mitt Romney comment that they have “no interest whatsoever” in peace

Source: AP via Washington Post

RAMALLAH, West Bank — Mitt Romney is undermining hopes for peace and democracy in the Middle East, a senior Palestinian official said Thursday in response to recent remarks to donors by the Republican presidential candidate that Palestinians have “no interest whatsoever” in peace.

Saeb Erekat, a top aide to President Mahmoud Abbas, rejected Romney’s claim.

“No one stands to gain more from peace than the Palestinians, and no one stands to lose from the absence of peace like the Palestinians,” Erekat told reporters. Those who tolerated Israel’s continued occupation of Palestinian territories, are “working against democracy and peace,” he added.

The Palestinian official called on leaders to “create hope and opportunities, not despair.” In an apparent swipe at Romney, he said, “anyone who says Arabs are not ready for democracy is a racist.”

1. Hey Willard

being president means basically top Diplomat. Your no Diplomat. We might as well donate the USA to our enemies if your that bad . he's scary.

(this after I had a day long fuss with my brother over the fact that Hitler was Roman Catholic. Whether he was a god or not is a different matter but he's no atheist and I'm the last person and some know who should be taking that side. Just a newer Myth put out my revisionist radical right Christians to put blame elsewhere instead of taking it. There's always radicals in a religion. alas my brothers been brainwashed.

3. Bet Romney never dreamed his secret talk would be heard by the Palestinians.

He has no concept of diplomacy. He has insulted not only Amricans of all stripesbut people of other countries. Not indicative of world leadership ability.

4. Two Arab/Israeli Peace Accords

Last edited Thu Sep 20, 2012, 10:15 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

The only two Arab nations who have reached peace with Israel (Egypt & Jordan) were brought together by Democratic Presidents Carter and Clinton. Why do Republicans hate peace so much? Because it's bad for business, that's why!

5. Found on my facebook page today

Two Muslim friends, one from Indonesia, and the other from Egypt, neither of which ever post anything political about the U.S., 'liked' a photo of Obama.

7. “Politics has driven us apart in some respects. So, my campaign is about the 100% in America...

And I am concerned about them.”

How much more forced can it get

8. Mitt Romney is the most dangerous man in the world. His ignorance, and the willingness to take

stance on an issue without the facts is frightening.

10. No, he's not. Not yet.

Right now, he's a rich schmuck with delusions of grandeur, self-deceived and bent on getting the rest of us to share in his particular mania.

if elected he will become the most dangerous person in the world. Do not allow that to happen. This election is the last chance he and his party have to drown us in a fucking bathtub, and it looks like they plan to take the rest of the world with us. If we block them, they're done.

Time to drive the stake into the heart of the GOP vampire.
