Obama Leads Romney in Latest Poll

Last edited Wed Sep 19, 2012, 04:52 PM USA/ET - Edit history (4)

Source: Pew Research Center

19 September 2012 With an eight-point lead over Mitt Romney among likely voters, Barack Obama holds a bigger September lead than the last three candidates who went on to win in November, including Obama four years ago. In elections since 1988, only Bill Clinton, in 1992 and 1996, entered the fall with a larger advantage.

Folks, this is quite huge indeed!

51% to 43%! That's LIKELY voters! EIGHT points!

1. I am basking in all these great polls but

I keep having this nagging feeling that on election night some SOB Secretaries of State will somehow pull it out of the bag for that friggin cretin

After Gore and Kerry got screwed, no lead will be big enough to make me feel comfortable

I can't even be "cautiously optimistic," because of the shenanigans of 2000 & 2004.

But I'll keep watching and waiting and hoping that our guy wins, but never will I assume it's a done deal. Well, if he wins, of course, but until then, "once bitten, twice shy."

3. I think this is a duplicate of an existing LBN thread

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014237434

which links straight to the Pew page with the poll results (and already has 5 recs). Maybe you could add the Huffington Post in-depth reporting to that thread?

4. E vote fraud is useless with this type of split.

The best E-vote fraud can manage is 3-4 %---and that is only if there is a Green candidate on the ballot to whom Democratic votes can be shifted. Without a Green, they can't get away with more than 2%, otherwise the exit polls will catch them. And this time, the press will not sit on incriminating exit polls, since they hate the Tea Parties and they hate Citizens United (which is a GOP effort to usurp the political power of the press) and they hate Mitt Romney.

However, any GOP election workers who are reading this should go ahead and try to steal votes. That way, Eric Holder will be able to arrest you after the election and send you to prison for a long time---which will keep you from trying to steal votes for Brother Jeb in 2016.

5. You Ain't Seen NOTHIN' Yet

Just wait until Obama Campaign kicks it into high gear

and steps on the gas

He has adequate cash, a lead, an organization, a ground game,
an improving economy, and an opponent's had his wings clipped.

What can we do to help? Are you doing your part? have you
called your local County Democratic Headquarters to volunteer?

My first meeting is this Saturday.

Every Democratic candidate needs support at all levels, Federal,
state, local.

You will meet great people, make that phone call NOW!

7. Right, all the right has now is negativity and slander, people are TURNED OFF by that nonsense...

...I'm not sure even 100 of millions spent at this point will matter, it's diminishing returns on PR for a defective product.

PEOPLE AIN'T BUYING IT!

10. The religious group poll is interesting. In Romneyland they'd have to pick up those left behind.

12. Very promising but I won't celebrate until it's final!!

I don't put anything past the top 1%'ers as they have vowed to make President Obama a one term president!
We must never let our guard down!!

13. And this was before Romney wrote off 47% of the electorate

I still think it's possible for Obama to outperform his 2008 margin of victory.
