Nato cuts Afghan joint patrols over 'insider' attacks

Nato says it is to restrict operations with Afghan troops following a string of deadly attacks on its personnel by rogue Afghan security forces. Only large operations will now be conducted jointly, with joint patrols evaluated on a case-by-case basis. It may seem backwards but there's no real choice here. NATO and the Afghans don't trust each other anymore. Better seperate the patrols and try to stay alive until the pullout.

5. Agree. If they can't guarantee our people's safety then let them face the consequences.

Afghanistan needs to get control of their own people.
Also, if they segregate the troops there may be ambushes that need to watched for. What's the down side? Anybody know? |

Training and working with the Afghan military and national police was supposed to be the centerpiece of the NATO exit strategy. Now what?
