More than 90 percent of the bakers’ union workers employed by bankrupt Hostess Brands rejected the company’s final proposal, the union said Monday
Members of the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco and Grain Millers International Union employed by the Irving snack maker overwhelmingly turned thumbs down on the proposal “in every region of the country and every segment of the company’s operations,” the union said in a news release. “In many locations, the vote to reject the proposal was unanimous.”
The overall total was 92 percent against.
Union President Frank Hurt took exception to comments last week from Hostess Chief Executive Gregory Rayburn who suggested that some union members cast their votes based on mis-information.
