US Diplomats In Beirut Burning Classified Material

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Diplomats at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut have started to destroy classified material as a security precaution amid anti-American protests in Lebanon and elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa.

A State Department status report obtained Monday by The Associated Press said the Beirut embassy had "reviewed its emergency procedures and is beginning to destroy classified holdings." It also said that local Lebanese employees were sent home early due to protests by the militant Shiite group Hezbollah over an anti-Muslim film produced in the U.S.

1. This is all political theater. The killings were revenge for the AQ #2 hit. The rest is staging to

raise the terror level so we won't object to the looting of the US and the beginning of the new dark ages.

2. Big naval exercise designed to practice keeping the gulf open....

Israel agitating to attack Iran, diplomats burning documents in Lebanon.

Kinda makes me wonder if Israel isn't going for it. We'd be pretty likely to pull our diplomats out of Lebanon if Iran's proxy Hezbollah opened up a northern front after an attack on Iran wouldn't we?
