Senate candidate’s senior adviser attacks Baldwin for her sexual orientationLast edited Sun Sep 9, 2012, 12:59 AM USA/ET - Edit history (7)
Source: Wisconsin Gazette
snip/ Apparently timed around Baldwin’s speech before the Democratic National Convention, the message from Brian Nemoir included a link to a video showing Baldwin dancing with the disco band VO5, whose members are dressed up in Wonder Woman costumes and playing the theme to the comic-based television series. /snip/ “Clearly, there’s no one better positioned to talk ‘heartland values’ than Tammy,” Nemoir wrote sarcastically. If elected, Baldwin, who represents the Madison area in Congress, would become the first out gay person ever elected to the U.S. Senate. In criticizing Baldwin over her personal life, Nemoir could be wading into dangerous territory. Thompson, who served as governor for four terms, has long been gossiped about among Madison insiders for his alleged philandering. Despite all the rumors, no former mistress yet has come forward during the campaign to tattle on him. /snip/ Thompson eliminated former Gov. Tony Earl’s Council on Lesbian and Gay Issues during his first term as governor. During a 2009 Republican primary presidential debate, he said it should be legal to fire employees based on their sexual orientation. Despite all the rumors, no former mistress yet has come forward during the campaign to tattle on him. My, Oh my, oh my Nemoir just lost the race for Thompson... the flood gates are about to open. and there is plenty of water out there. Thompson's sexual dalliances have been whispered in the halls of the state capital for years. When asked about his e-mail, Nemoir doubled down, saying, "I think there are issues in this race that are extremely significant that will be generated on a day-to-day basis, and I look forward to coverage of those issues." Apparently, according to Nemoir, the fact that Baldwin is lesbian and danced at a gay pride event two years ago is an "extremely significant" issue. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/09/08/1129267/-WI-Sen-Thompson-campaign-resorts-to-gay-bashing-Baldwin Actually I think she cuts a pretty good rug for a politician. 3. They are going to run the same campaign they did for Walker. Remember the people that registered to
|
Vote for Walker because they were told to do so by their pastors... I saw that video this summer. Same hateful theme.
And I saw her tell her story at the DNC, she was wonderful, I was so proud to be a member of the same party: We also have a thread here earlier this week on how ALEC has just put in almost a million dollars to help defeat Democrats in WI this election. The airwaves are going to be full of hate this year in Wisconsin and everywhere. Get ready, folks. We can't afford to lose good people like Tammy. |

|
Why are THEY always the ones that bring video cameras and why are THEY always the ones who take pictures and footage of the most racy displays?

|
in their bigoted little minds being Gay is something that should cause shame not pride

6. So THAT video is supposed to be scandalous?!
|
She's just dancing--fully dressed--on a stage with a campy band to the delight of her constituents. What is the big deal, Wisconsin? Looks to me like she's a cool person--all the more reason to vote for her.
Thompson and Nimrod, on the other hand, just positioned themselves as hateful, humorless bigots. |

|
Who the hell CARES what people do for entertainment and joy?
(voice rises) I think it's WONDERFUL when people show their humanity and joyful, playful side.. ESPECIALLY people that would represent me in government. They are alive! They are being real. I think they are more likely to be trustable than some tight, anal retentive, living a life that's too personal to show their taxes, kind of person! More power to living life to the damn fullest!! That would be my candidate! (if I lived in Wisconsin) |

MTV music awards... probably not, but I think they are destined for an uptick in their careers and they'll have Nemoir to thank. |

I don't care what either Baldwin or Nimrod does in the sack. Let's lay off the personnel attacks about what they do in the sack and get back to more pertinent facts. .

Last edited Sun Sep 9, 2012, 12:31 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) It's been thrown out there. It will self perpetuate. Baldwin is not well know in many parts of the state nor the fact that she is gay. This is the third time they have thrown the light on it I have read or heard on the news, all be it the other two times it's been mentioned more indirectly.
...needle and the damage done. Baldwin won't retaliate. Others in the community might. |

15. Fundamentalists
|
The problem with fundamentalists is that they have forgotten they are Christians. They live their lives based on the Old Testament and the Pauline writings, and totally forget the example and words of Jesus in the middle bit, the Gospels. Makes it sort of hard for the other type of Christian to look themselves in the mirror.

|
Tommy probably needs more than one of the female wait staff at the Concourse Hotel whose asses he pinched to sink him. I'm sure a mistress is out there somewhere ready to talk.
He's such a slime. I've talked to so many in the food service business who have just gross stories to tell about him. |

20. My Take
|
A persons Gender or Gender Choices are a non issue since if I am correct most crimes and vile acts are perpetrated by heterosexuals and not Gays or Lesbians.
Intolerance is the key enabler to those who do not respect others just because they are gay, black, white or blue. Intolerance is the true ugliest word. |

23. Heartland Values?
|
Give me a break! While Secretary of DHHS, this troll shuttled around the country with his mistress and maintained a condo in the same D.C. complex as her. Someone from the Baldwin organization needs to file a FOIA request and get the records/testimony from OIG/OI regarding his protection details. Many agent hours and tax dollars were wasted "protecting" this clown so he could secretly cavort with his girlfriend (dinners, sightseeing, furniture shopping, etc.), explore personal business opportunities (land deals in the Dells), and travel regularly back to Wisconsin to attend family functions (weddings). God help us if he represents "Heartland Values."

He's attacking the very essence of who she is. That's like criticizing a heterosexual person who has done nothing wrong for his/her "sex" life... it's just their life, period. |
