Charlotte man charged with threatening president on Twitter

A Charlotte man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly making threats against President Obama on his Twitter account earlier this week.

Donte Jamar Sims, 21, appeared in court Thursday after officials said he posted threats to kill the president on his Twitter account Monday.

“Well Ima Assassinate president Obama this evening !...Gotta get this monkey off my chest while he’s in town - -,” the tweet read at 6:06 a.m. Monday. Two hours later, Sims allegedly posted, “Ima hit president Obama with that Lee Harvey Oswald swag.”

Three more tweets over the next 12 minutes include Sims allegedly saying he was going to aim a gun at Obama’s forehead and that he was “plotting President Obama’s murder.”

Sorry I know this is more of a local story here in North Carolina but the sheer inanity and method of the guy's threats are notable.

A fellow who attacked two children recently was on POT laced with PCP. Pot was not at fault. I really doubt that it is 'the cause' here either.

48 years and I haven't killed or even threatened anyone.

PCP is nasty stuff. I will always be grateful to a friend in my high school who, at the first party I attended with them, clued me in about PCP and how to tell if a joint was laced, and to NOT under ANY circumstances inhale if it was laced.

PCP's effects were legendary among that set and I am glad I learned about it before I found out the hard way.

24. Pot and PCP are totally different.

PCP = animal tranquilizer.

In my younger days, for whatever reason, people would lace joints with it. I guess the high is "cool" if you don't completely freak out.

I agree with everyone here about POT. But when you put PCP in the mix, it's very believable.

One reason pot should be legalized and regulated like alcohol, so when you buy it legally, you don't get shit like PCP in it. Of course, people who just can't get high enough will still go onto the black market to get stuff like PCP, but a lot fewer kids will grow up knowing how to do that.
