Romney campaign responds to Clinton DNC speech
Source: CNN
(CNN) - GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign issued a statement after former President Bill Clinton's address to the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, saying Clinton "drew a stark contrast between himself and President Obama." "Bill Clinton worked with Republicans, balanced the budget, and after four years he could say you were better off," Romney campaign spokesman Ryan Williams wrote. "Barack Obama hasn’t worked across the aisle – he’s barely worked with other Democrats – and has the worst economic record of any president in modern history. "President Clinton’s speech brought the disappointment and failure of President Obama’s time in office clearly into focus,” Williams continued. 34. Probably like AP story on wire long before Clinton began speaking
|
Probably used the advanced copy of Clinton's speech.
Some of the RW pundits where whinging about Clinton running long, rambling, losing his place on the teleprompter, and making Obama look even worse. Then discussion about Clintons and Obama never reconciling after the 2008 primary. Only reason Bill is speaking is selfish desire to get Hillary elected in 2016. It's all about him, all about them. The RW has been certain that Dems and Obama are desperate, not enthused, envious of success, full of hate, unable to fill stadium even giving away tickets and using that old Dem favorite, busing; the excuse of a little rain was just another Dem lie. Anyone who was in Charlotte Tuesday night and experienced those storms, rain, and lightening knows what they might be facing on Thursday night. Because so many people would be traveling long distances in the Carolinas and from throughout the Nation, they could not wait any longer to decide. Rain and wind is bad enough, but not that much lightning. I hope they get a decent thunderstorm with lightning in the stadium area while Obama is speaking. Shut them up on that, too. |

And, if you ask me, they probably went to listen, but as usual, only heard what could lead to a spin worthy of a pay check.
The ROFLublican who can come up with the fastest spin wins jackpot each day, courtesy of the Koch brothers. Shit, they've got enough money to float Rush Limbaugh in a boat right now. We have votes, and like Clinton mentioned indirectly in his star blazing speech, we need to show up, regardless of all the pretend laws that some think should disable our votes and RE-ELECT him. So, the GOP presidential Mitt RMoney campaign can kiss my entire ass with the spin cycle, wiping me on the way to spending all their fucking money. |

President Clinton's 1993 budget that raised taxes on the wealthy and is widely regarded as key to the economic performance this bill got not one Republican vote in the Senate. Back then budgets were not subject to filibuster so it passed without a single vote to spare. While Clinton may have tried to work with Republicans this vote made it abundantly clear that Republicans were not willing to work with Clinton.

just a few years ago, wasn't there some president who turned a surplus into deficits, left office after 8 years with the stock market LOWER than when he started, and unemployment higher, and whose policies led to the worst recession since the Great Depression? Not ringing any bells for you, Governor Romney? I think his name started with a B and ended in u-s-h. No? Can't remember any such president?

Obama's campaign needs to double down on the obstructionist label that the House worked so hard for and handsomely earned.
Then offer the President's accomplishments which benefited the country and paint Congress as the failures that they truly are. They did not bring Obama down, they brought themselves down and they did it with their own hatred of Him and of You and Me. |
