U.S. Auto Sales Speed Up In August: Ford, GM And Chrysler Book Double-Digit Gains
Source: Forbes
That slowdown in the U.S. economy didn’t seem to hurt auto sales in August as Ford Motor, General Motors and Chrysler each reported solid gains from a year ago. Ford recorded better sales across the board – in cars, utilities and trucks – for a 13% increase, and said retail sales were up 19% in August. Rising fuel prices, with gasoline up 20 cents a gallon from a month ago at a national average of $3.82 according to AAA, drew buyers toward more fuel-efficient vehicles according to Ford’s VP of sales and marketing Ken Czubay. 6. The republicans want Obama to fail and do everything to that end
|
and nothing to put people back to work. They ran on jobs in 2010 only to vote on repealing Obama cares act, 34 times, anti woman agenda but won't bring Obama's jobs bill to a vote. A lot of people without jobs, lost homes, lost insurance, 401k losses, health ins etc, have the Gop to thank for doing nothing to create jobs but cheering every bad job report.

3. August is always slow because no one buys cars in the rain.
|
That we didn't get a lot of rain is why this is what it is.

8. Go Detroit!
|
As one who grew up a motor-city girl, each good news story out of Detroit pleases me to no end. My dad worked at GM for 20+ years so I KNOW what a healthy auto industry means to so very many.
