Assange lawyer 'on secret list', stopped at airportThis discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Rhiannon12866 (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum). AN AUSTRALIAN lawyer representing Julian Assange has been named on a border control list, a British newspaper reports. Human rights legal specialist Jennifer Robinson, who is part of the WikiLeaks founder's team, said she was stopped as she attempted to board a flight to Australia in April. "Why would I need clearance to travel to my own country? So far, I have not received a proper explanation," 31-year-old Ms Robinson told The Mail on Sunday. Virgin Atlantic crew at London's Heathrow airport told Ms Robinson she must have "done something controversial" to be on the "inhibited person list", which WikiLeaks supporters say is a secret database operated by British and US authorities. Both governments deny the practice. Read more: http://www.news.com.au/world/assange-lawyer-on-secret-list-stopped-at-airport/story-fndir2ev-1226463577214

There is no conspiracy to harass either Assange or any one else connected to him He's just a rapist who won't answer the charges against him.

19. The Daily Mail needed to fill column inches so they got her to cough up a quote to them
|
and then released a retread of past stuff with her new quote in it, with a "First time she's spoken to a British paper about this!" hook. Once it hit the wires, everybody with a short attention span picked it up
Note that the Ozzie lead paragraph -- "AN AUSTRALIAN lawyer representing Julian Assange has been named on a border control list, a British newspaper reports" -- isn't even factually correct |

17. Holy shit! She gave a quote to the Daily Mail: "This incident raises so many questions. Why would
|
I need clearance to travel to my own country? So far I have not had a proper explanation."
And the Mail says she never spoke with a British paper about it before. This is indeed groundbreaking! |

Left out of the coverage we get here in the states. If we should be upset is should be with the media and their selective coverage of this whole affair.
