VIDEO: Jerry Brown challenges Chris Christie to a fitness test.
Source: Sacramento Bee
Three days after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called California Gov. Jerry Brown an "old retread," the Democratic governor fired back on Thursday, challenging Christie to a physical fitness contest. "There's nothing wrong with being a little retread," the 74-year-old, third-term governor told members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 770 in Los Angeles. "Not as much hair, I'm slowed down a little bit. But I have to tell you, I ran three miles in 29 minutes two nights ago ... and I hereby challenge Gov. Christie to a three-mile race, a pushup contest and a chin-up contest. And whatever he wants to bet, I have no doubt of the outcome." Well done !!!
But seriously, I'm pretty sure Christie couldn't waddle 100 yards in an hour, even if there was a buffet at the other end. I'm betting Jerry Brown outlives Chris Christie. |

28. That's an excellent question
|
And a very relevant one. Here's a scenario:
1) Christie lives to 65, which I seriously doubt. 2) Romney is elected and "repeals Obamacare the first day" as he has promised. 3) Ryan gets his voucher program for Medicare. A person in Christie's physical shape is really screwed. By repealing the ACA, insurance companies are once again free to put in huge exclusions and extra charges for pre-existing conditions -- and 400 pounds of beefcake is definitely a pre-existing condition. Christie would probably be covered on some other state plan, but what about people who are not well connected. Do you know ANY 65-year-olds who don't have SOME pre-existing condition? I don't think I do. |

|
Glad to hear that Jerry Brown offered the challenge to him. I have a mental image of Christie in a race with Brown and it's not pretty. Might have trouble getting to sleep tonight. Gak.....
And yep, that second picture is the one I saw yesterday I think and I'm pretty sure it has not been PS. That is Chris in full throated rant. Yikes, that is NOT attractive. Somehow, I don't think he thought he'd be perceived that way by his own peeps. But it would have been hard to see him any other way since he had all the charm and charisma of a pit bull. |

Reading the story helps me dislike it less, but the challenge comes off as a bit too close to fat-shaming.
I guess it undercuts the GOP's claim on all things manly, so there's that. |
