Feds shut down criminal investigation of Arpaio; no charges to be filedLast edited Fri Aug 31, 2012, 08:27 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
Source: AZCENTRAL.COM
The U.S. Attorney's Office has closed its long-running abuse-of-power investigation into Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio -- without any charges to be filed. In a 5 p.m. Friday news release, Assistant U.S. Attorney Ann Birmingham Scheel, acting on behalf of the United States Department of Justice, announced her office "is closing its investigation into allegations of criminal conduct" by current and former members of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. Federal prosecutors have advised Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery of the decision. "I'm just pissed," said Maricopa County Supervisor Andy Kunasek. "If (former Deputy County Attorney) Lisa Aubuchon and (former Sheriff's Chief Deputy) David Hendershott are not prosecuted for perjury, then this is all about politics. This is about a Justice Department that is afraid to do their jobs." The DoJ might let those "poll tax" voting laws go uncontested if Texas, Ohio, and Florida decide to appeal...
Eric Holder...how does that man stand straight without the benefit of an actual spine? |

Does Holder not understand that those right wingers will never, ever, ever respect anything Obama does ever, and there's just no reasoning with those whose brains were fried by all the misinfo by Sludge/Fox Boobs/Insannity/Wimpbawl/etc.??? Eric Holder, COWARD. Typical USDO(-NOTHING)J.

5. So everyone from Goldman Sachs to Blackwater, and now Arpaio get to "walk"
|
away from their crimes without being charged with ANYTHING?
At least GS and BW paid "settlement fines" (pay-offs) to get to walk. |

20. Eric Holder has got to go after this year.
|
Goldman Sachs, the CIA, and now the Maricopa County Sheriff have all gotten election-year pardons from the DO-NOTHING-J, essentially. Obama should nominate someone with a real record of achievements like NY AG Eric Schneiderman. Or hell even the atty. gen. from Obama's home state Illinois, Lisa Madigan, another state AG who's gone after the banks.

29. Eric Holder definetely has to resign after O's first term is done.
|
And replace him with Eliot Spitzer.
He'll take care of all the problems dealing with insider trading and illegal behaviors of the GOP And Spitzer should order the DoJ to cease and desist all medical-marijuana raids and respect state's laws. Where the hell do the 1000 feet away from any school for DIspensaries come from? |

I think anyplace selling alcohol or cannabis or porn, anything inappropriate for children, should be 1000 feet away from grade schools period.

But they are not enforcing that - that's hypocrisy.
If dispensaries are not allowed within 1000 feet from schools, then so shall everything else - 7-11's (sells cigs & beer), liquor store, smoke friendly shops, etc. |

anyway, along with Timmy the turd. This is nothing more than a inside job of Coving-Burling Law firm. There is something else here. What is the real story? Noticed articles coming out of Phoenix about the big financial kick in the teeth that is accruing because of Aripios actions. Maricopa County is in real world of hurt, mostly anger filled old white Mormons running the show. Most of the little mom and pop shops have bailed out,ton of foreclosures, major firms are staying away, most smart people don't want a transfer to the area.
