Biden's son slams GOP ticket's plans for veterans
Source: Orlando sentinel
Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, said in Orlando on Friday that the Republican presidential ticket of Mitt Romney and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan could cause "unconscionable" program cuts for American veterans. Speaking at the Obama for America campaign office in Orlando, Biden, a Delaware Army National Guard major and Iraq veteran, said Ryan's proposed budget cuts could eliminate $11 billion for veterans in the first year. He also slammed Romney's veterans' benefits voucher idea, saying that with 50,000 veterans coming home wounded from Iraq and Afghanistan, "There should be no debate about our government taking care of our veterans." 3. Hey now
|
His boys are serving their country by helping their daddy on his campaign. When the boys came home the other day, they were all dehydrated. Yes dehydrated. They risked their lives to go door knocking, and "you people" distort everything.

17. You probably meant it well. But Officers don't enlist. Instead they receive either a commission
|
from the President or a warrant from their Service Secretary. And Army Warrant Officers are additionally commissioned upon promition to Chief Warrant Officer. (Not sure what the Marines & Navy do. AF does not have Warrant Officers.)

He is serious and focused. He listens and replies with detailed answers. He is also very respectful toward his father. That guy is going to be president before too many years.

14. Private hospitals, and the insurance companies gobble up that $50k voucher in one visit.
|
After that the veterans are on their own. Veterans and their families should have free health insurance for life, period. Republicans can't do that though because it might work. |

16. Too Late
|
Active duty has to pay tricare for their families. Retired military has to pay tricare for themselves. At 65, veterans and retirees have to pay medicare and tricare for life. We have already been screwed.

20. I just got a 5k bill for a 20 min CT scan....
|
results showed nothing to worry about, which makes me happy... but at 5k for a test that is not uncommon these days.... 50k? (for how long would they even maintain that?) 50k would be used up quickly if you have any issue besides preventive care and general care... that would be so stressful to deal with, worrying about spending all your 50k... how many people would stay away from treatment in fear that they will blow through their funds? stupid idea

18. BTW Beau could have run for his dad's Senate seat in 2010......
|
it was assumed for the longest time that Beau Biden would run against Mike Castle, a very popular moderate republican that had served for years as our only US Representative.
But at the time the Dr. Earl Bradley case was just coming to surface and Beau put investing that child abuse case ahead of his political needs. Earl Bradley was a pediatrician that sexually abused over 100 of his patients, all girls. Unlike Tom Corbett who buried the case he was investigating so he could run for governor of Pennsylvania, that was the Jerry Sandusky case. |

I think that Democrats have a very good idea of the kind of America Rmoney wants to create...it's groups like the Republicans and their Tea Bagger creation that don't realize, or just don't care...as long as that black guy is kicked out of the White House!
