(70,479 posts)Now i really don't want anybody hurt by this storm .... even republicans but
the mayor has said that if it looks bad they will cancel the RNC for a few days.
I know the republicans deny science but a hurricane is nothing to fuck w/ ....
the last the mayor, the fire dept., the red cross, the coast guard, and others want
is extra people and problems during a hurricane. Now is the time for the
RNC spokespeople to say something like, "We understand and will work w/ the
local authorities durning this time. We want to reach out to all those who might
be in the storm's path and urge them to listen to the the local authorities and stay
safe. We look forward to holding our convention when the time is right."

(6,342 posts)Looks like it's going to miss Tampa. Every run of the computers inches it further out into the Gulf.
The people from the Florida panhandle to New Orleans better start paying attention to this.

(36,009 posts)These dudes can't run a country if they can't run a convention during a Florida rain storm. These happen all the time down there. Rain plus a 40 mph wind is a fall or spring storm. But then they wouldn't know that, being in The Bubble. Every storm going near Florida is a hurricane to them.
If people living in mobile homes there arent worried -- and they're not because I live down there and talk to them -- why should the RNC be in their bigass arena? They should knock off the limp-wristed handwringing and show this country what tough guys they claim they are. What they're really afraid of is that they won't get to drunkenly wander around outside their lizard parties. That they'll be stuck in a place that they can't play hooky from. God and his Israelite storm are laughing at these dudes. (I'm not religious but love using their mindset against them.)
