August 17, 2012 Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Lebanon-based Hezbollah group, and Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, the Iranian president, have issued stern warnings to Israel, saying that any aggression on that country's part would be met with a swift armed response. Nasrallah, speaking during a televised address from Beirut on Friday, said that his fighters will make the lives of Israelis "a living hell" if it is attacked. "There are targets in occupied Palestine which could be targeted by a small number of missiles," Nasrallah said. "If we are forced to use them to protect our people and our country, we will not hesitate to do so... and that will turn the lives of hundreds of thousands of Zionists into a living hell," he said in a speech marking al-Quds Day. 8. I share your fear...
|
But I would have to say my biggest fear is Hezbollah with a nuclear weapon or simply what Hezbollah could get away with if Iran had a Nuclear weapon. I know this is not a popular thing to say here on DU but it is something to be concerned about.

In other words, there's no way they are going to share their technology with al Qaeda.

wave their penises at one another this much was the time I learned not to click on blind links my friends sent me.
Israel and Iran yelling at one another used to be scary. Now it's become a weekly exchange of "No, YOU hit ME first, asshole!" while everyone rolls their eyes. |

5. Iran is much more prepared that the 'west' acknowledges. They have had a decade to prepare for
|
what they witnessed happened to their neighbor Iraq.
Most all of Iran's defence production is done internally, hence...we really don't have a decent clue of the weapon's they possess and are able to deliver. Could be a real crude awaking when israel lauches its illegal attack on Iran. |

10. Israel has every right to defend itself against any threat.
|
Hezbollah is a proxy for Iran, they have been fucking with Israel for years. If half the stuff that Hezbollah did to Israel happened in America, the call for blood would be over 90%. Yet we force Israel to play nice, to actually listen to pimps and terrorists like Hezbollah,PLO and Hamas. Israel would be foolish to not take action, to have to live under the good graces of the mullahs is untenable.

Plus Israel will kick the shit out of Iran, it will take a great many loses but will survive. Iran on the other hand will become Libya or Syria.

|
A couple of posters I've seen have had their posting privileges revoked in the last few days for making up BS against Israel. Well you're making up BS against Israel's victims.
It is illegal, under international law, for the US or Israel to threaten Iran. Hezbollah arose to end Israel's occupation of Lebanon. Israel occupied Lebanon after an unprovoked war. The Palestinians are victims of ethnic cleansing and apartheid. They are, by far, the ones that are victimized the most by violence. You are supporting Israel's brutal racism. Shame on you! |

16. The leader of Iran today made threats against Israel.
|
Is it a pissing match back and forth? sure, but threats nonetheless.
If Palestinians tommorow stopped their activities, do you think Isarel would stop the incursions into the West Bank and Gaza. Israel would love to live in peace and be left alone. As for Hezbollah, I don't care what they came out of I care about what they are doing now. |

19. if "Israel would love to live in peace and be left alone"
|
why does it continue to treat Palestinians so poorly and I'm being euphemistic... The land was Palestine before 1948, so basically the Palestinians are much like the Native Americans here. They are the victims and Israel is the occupier! For that reason alone, there will never be peace.
"If Palestinians tommorow stopped their activities..." so they should stop fighting against an occupier. I think not. Israel is the bully. Yet the US supports Israel no matter what, even when it kills Americans. Israel has weapons of mass destruction, Palestinians have rocks and sticks of dynamite. Israel bombs neighbors ike Lebanon with impunity (imagine Iraq or Iran doing the same) and Israel bulldozes Palestinian settlements without mercy or humanity. Israel gets our tax dollars and miitary aid and our so-called leaders allow that bastard Netanyaho shake his finger in out collective face. I am sick of everyone else being villainized EXCEPT Israel. |

11. You don't think Ahmadinejad could be corrupted?
|
http://www.insideiran.org/media-analysis/ahmadinejad-tied-to-billions-lost-in-corruption-case/
On September 12, a previously secretive corruption case involving figures very close to the president was made public, with further revelations being released daily. No less than $2.6 billion are said to have been embezzled. The case is, according to Iranian officials, the biggest in the nation’s history. While it remains unclear whether or not Ahmadinejad himself could be implicated, it is certain that some of his closest allies will be. |

9. I said this in an earlier thread about Lebanon.
|
My point about Saudi Arabia asking their citizens to leave Lebanon. Iran is going to use Hezbollah to attack the both Israel and Saudi Arabia. The Saud's are the biggest proponent of Israeli attack on Iran, they may say they aren't for domestic consumption. My guess is that right now in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah fighters are awaiting the attack and have orders to shell northern Israel with everything they have. Iran will strike back with all conventional weapons they have. Then the second wave will strike, bus bombings in Israel and western Europe. Perhaps in the U.S, maybe a few missions like happened in Mumbai. When I Intially brought this up I was told that it wasn't Iran it was Turkey that the Saud's were afraid of.
