Romney Picked Ryan Over Advisers' Early Doubts

Source: BuzzFeed

Mitt Romney appears to have picked Paul Ryan as his running mate over the objections of top political advisors, offering a glimpse at the leadership style of the Republican nominee in the most important decision of his campaign.

Romney's aides have stressed publicly in the 24 hours since Romney electrified conservatives with his choice that the pick was the governor's alone. They have been less forthcoming on the flip side: That much of his staff opposed the choice for the same reason that many pundits considered it unlikely — that Ryan's appealingly wonky public image and a personality Romney finds copasetic will matter far less than two different budget plans whose details the campaign now effectively owns.

"Everybody was against [Ryan] to start with only Romney for," said one top Republican, who is skeptical of the choice and griped that Romney's top advisors have "been giving Mitt everything he wanted in this campaign."

I had to read that a couple of times to figure out wtf the author was talking about.

Shouldn't it have read, "Everybody was against the choice of Paul Ryan to start with, and only Romney was for it."

I hate to be the grammar nazi, but damn!

Even under Romney's sanitized 2010 tax returns, most of hits taxes are capital gains. So, is it any mystery why Romney was smitten with Ryan from the start?

Think about it. If Romney's is paying amount 13 percent taxes on income of about 22 million in 2010, this still trans late to about $2.8 million. Now, with the Ryan plan, Romney would pay zero taxes. The poor and middle class sacrifice so Romney gets an even lower tax rate.

His ad:

Dear fine gentlemen of the voting persuasion and dolls,

As you have been so informed, the Cruelly-Cruelly Rmoney & Dumbo Rayn ticket is, in the parlance, a sure thing, and any investment you may wish to wager would be money well spent. And there ain't no limit. Not no spread limit or no cap limit or no pot limit. No limit. Nice, huh? Investment-wise, I mean.

As you also have been so informed, our Cruelly-Cruelly only wants to help youse people. His racket, er, business, Pain Capital, has helped people get a piece of the pie, and not just investment-wise. His recent purchase of the Save-A-Soul Mission is guaranteed to save all the souls who will become detached from their lifeless bodies, when Cruelly-Cruelly's policies go into effect--and there will be a lot of them. Souls, that is. One cannot beat a guarantee, can one?

And Dumbo, as one would expect from a personage with ears of such magnitude, will fly from city to city, so's not to use Air Force One or any other Air Force, so's to cut the deficit, which is an all-important thing to do. After winning terrorism, that is.

And these guys both got fancy dolls for wives--only one each, no matter what some mug might tell you otherwisely.

So youse folks want to vote for Cruelly-Cruelly and Dumbo, if you ain't an illegal or nothing.

I am Damon Romyan and I approve my message.

They are trying to make Romney look decisive. This is exactly like palin. They knew they were going to lose and they needed a "game changer" furthermore this is supposed to ignite the conservatives. They were all voting regardless.

This is the *exact* candidate the Koch bros and their friends wanted. This is trying to distance the big money powers from this choice. They bought the candidates and now they are trying to buy the election. Make no mistake. Billions are on the line for them.

Mitt the wimp didn't pick anybody. He's a good Norquist puppet.
