Source: NBC
Nearly 90 firefighters are battling a fire on the 88th floor of 1 World Trade Center, fire officials said. The fire was reported to the FDNY just before 7:45 a.m. Wednesday and is ongoing, officials said. The size of the blaze wasn't known. No one was inside the building when the flames erupted. It wasn't immediately clear what caused the blaze. Even though at the time, he was on his way in his limo to the school. But hey, do facts really matter with 9/11? He said that 3 months after 9/11, and he said it later again. Just let Obama get away with saying shit like that when facts tell us different. Oh but that's "crazy truther" talk.
After this weeks shooting, even though they weren't Muslim, 9/11 seemed to be this assholes revenge. If I were Muslim, I would want to clear our name, and make these threats go away. I would involve the help of other countries since the US can't stop lying about 9/11. They should take it to the point of running a remote controlled plane into a created building like the WTC just to see what would really happen. |

25. If they burn on multiple floors, uncontrolled without sprinklers for hours, yeah.
|
Actually they do.
All the metal components of the Windsor Tower in Madrid collapsed to the ground in a couple hours, all that was left was the concrete-pillar construction components of the building, as the fire didn't do much to concrete. It was a hybrid building, part concrete, part steel-frame. All the steel frame stuff collapsed under it's own weight in the heat. |

WTC #1 fell less than an hour after the plane crashed into it. WTC #2 fell 1 hour & 42 minutes after impact. Are you using the word "hours" to mean "less than an hour", or "one hour and change"? |

33. That was in reference to WTC7.
|
WTC 1 and 2 were hit with aircraft travelling at 500+ mph, in excess of ~300,000lbs, full of fuel, and lit, again, multiple floors on fire across 1 acre areas, imparting ~7.4 million foot-tons of torque on each of the buildings at impact.
WTC7 was hit with burning debris from tower 1, some structural damage, but nothing like WTC 1 and 2 experienced, and simultaneously lost all water pressure as the collapse of 1 & 2 cut the local water mains. WTC7 failed entirely due to fire, and it took several hours longer to do so, than the steel framed components of the Windsor Tower fire. The issues with WTC1 & 2 are not directly comparable to 7, because your starting point with the fires is already so far behind the curve, with structural members already removed by the physical impacts. Typically the 'hurf durf fire steel building' references are directed at WTC7, and this is what I was responding to. Towers 1 & 2 initated progressive collapse at the points they were physically impacted by aircraft for a reason. Had there ONLY been widespread fires in towers 1 & 2, they would have stood much longer, like WTC 7 did. I'm glad this is just a big stupid fucking joke to you. |

The FDNY said responding firefighters encountered workers welding, which was causing the smoke visible from outside the building.
There were conflicting reports from the Fire Department and the Port Authority about whether there had been a fire. |
