Geoff Davis resigns from Congress, cites family health issue
Source: Courier-Journal
Republican U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis of Kentucky resigned Tuesday, citing a family health issue.
Davis had previously announced he would retire this year from Congress. He said in a statement issued Tuesday that a family health issue had developed recently that needs more of his time. “As a result, I cannot continue to effectively fulfill my obligations to both my office and my family,” he said. “Family must and will come first.” Davis, 53, is a fiscal and social conservative and has been in the House since 2005. His 4th District stretches along the upper tier of Kentucky from the Louisville suburbs to the West Virginia border. 4. Yup. The repukes have painted themselves in a corner.

if they run on their usual platform, they get raked over the coals by the ball lickers.
So rather than confront the stupidity, they resign as cowards. |

5. Wonder why he is leaving just before the election
|
when he actually decided to leave in Dec?
. "In December 2011, I decided that in order to honor those values, I needed to retire from Congressional service so I could more effectively serve my family as a husband and father." Is this a way to have the Republican candidate appointed to serve before the election? something smells. |

In this sad matter I have considerable experience. Assuming this is the case, my best wishes to the Congressman, his family, and all families who have this experience... |

It usually has something to do with getting caught in bed with a live boy, a dead girl or-someone else wife to go that quickly.

maybe they wanted it out of the way in plenty of time before the election...guess they think that in August no one is paying much attention, when actually lots of big stuff has happened in August...
