Adelson attends Romney’s Jerusalem speech

Casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson and wife Miriam were visible in the audience at presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s speech on Israel-U.S. relations in Jerusalem.

* * *

Nor was it shocking the Las Vegas Sands chairman would sit in. He has become a big backer of Romney with multimillion-dollar super PAC contributions. He’s also been active in the drive to increase Romney’s support in the Jewish community.

"We cannot stand silent as those who seek to undermine Israel voice their criticisms," said Romney, the walls of the Old City lining the hilltop behind him. "And we certainly should not join in that criticism. Diplomatic distance in public between our nations emboldens Israel's adversaries.

"We should employ any and all measures to dissuade the Iranian regime from its nuclear course, and it is our fervent hope that diplomatic and economic measures will do so. In the final analysis, of course, no option should be excluded. We recognize Israel's right to defend itself, and that it is right for America to stand with you.”

Remember when Bush and company looked the other way as his pals at Enron engaged in fraud of a then unprecedented magnitude? Now, given the hundreds of millions that Koch and Adelson have invested in Romney's campaign, what kind of activity would Koch and Adelson engage in knowing that Romney has their back?

For example, Federal investigators are currently examining whether Adelson's company violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Will anyone ask Romney about this investigation and whether Adelson's heavy handed support for him might diminish his willingless to pursue such violations?

2. I'm guessing that's the reason that Romney pretty much said that USA would be subservient to Israel

I'm all for supporting Israel but not at the expense of putting USA in another war we cannot afford.

6. Adelson watched Romney the way Romney watches Rafalca.

Was that a good investment? Did all that expensive training pay off? Hope he doesn't leave another pile of shit out there.

10. And why doesn't the msm

ever mention Adelson's casinos in Macau and Singapore instead of just saying he's the owner of The Sands? His money is from foreign nations that he has to pay to play in...so I wonder just what they want him to do if Rmoney wins?
