Mexican official: CIA 'manages' drug tradeThis discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Scurrilous (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum). Mexican official: CIA 'manages' drug trade Spokesman for Chihuahua state says US agencies don't want to end drug trade, a claim denied by other Mexican officials. Chris Arsenault Last Modified: 24 Jul 2012 14:16 Juarez, Mexico - The US Central Intelligence Agency and other international security forces "don't fight drug traffickers", a spokesman for the Chihuahua state government in northern Mexico has told Al Jazeera, instead "they try to manage the drug trade". Allegations about official complicity in the drug business are nothing new when they come from activists, professors, campaigners or even former officials. However, an official spokesman for the authorities in one of Mexico's most violent states - one which directly borders Texas - going on the record with such accusations is unique. "It's like pest control companies, they only control," Guillermo Terrazas Villanueva, the Chihuahua spokesman, told Al Jazeera last month at his office in Juarez. "If you finish off the pests, you are out of a job. If they finish the drug business, they finish their jobs." A spokesman for the CIA in Washington wouldn't comment on the accusations directly, instead he referred Al Jazeera to an official website. The one detail they kept out of Iran Contra was the drug trade. Every time it came up they went into Executive Session.

This is becoming quite the habit with them. This isn't a well kept secret but surprisingly few Americans seem to know or care. It astounds and saddens me.

16. Most Americans know the government does crap like this
|
it's just that they don't think there's anything that can be done about it.
Politicians refuse to even talk about it as if it's all a conspiracy theory, much less clean house. However they ARE willing to launch major investigations into steroid use in baseball. Or drone on and on about a birth certificate.... |

''One measure of a society is the problems it chooses to solve. Rome’s ruling class was unable to restrain its rapacity, even in its own ultimate interest. Adams saw what liberals are rarely willing to admit——namely, that a system based on corrupt practice cannot be saved merely by tinkering with it.'' ~John Whiting, London University

them protection from prosecution, which is free (to the CIA).
