Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday morning that the administration is very confident Republicans will have the votes to pass their health care bill through the House on Thursday.
Asked on Birmingham radio station 99.5 what the administration plans to do if the bill fails to get the needed votes to pass on Thursday, Pence did not entertain the concern, even as a group of House conservatives are holding steady in their opposition to the proposal.
To be honest with you, were very confident we will have the votes, Pence said. Literally every hour were seeing members of Congress whove been working with the president very closely on improving this bill have come alongside as we keep this promise to the American people, and were just going to keep driving toward it.
The president and I are confident that come tomorrow well have the support of members of Congress to begin the end of Obamacare once and for all, he added.
