Jared Kushner, President Donald Trumps son-in-law and close adviser, met with a senior Time Warner Inc. executive in recent weeks and expressed the administrations deep concerns about CNNs news coverage, according to a White House official and other people familiar with the matter.

In a meeting at the White House, Mr. Kushner complained to Gary Ginsberg, executive vice president of corporate marketing and communications at CNNs parent Time Warner, about what Mr. Kushner feels is unfair coverage slanted against the president, the people said.

The Trump administrations hostile posture toward the news media, especially CNN, has been evident in the presidents own statements and those of his press secretary and top aides. On Thursday, Mr. Trump lashed into CNN once again at a news conference, calling it very fake news with expert commentary that is almost exclusively anti-Trump.

But the anti-CNN push isnt just a public display meant to rally Mr. Trumps supporters. Behind the scenes, Mr. Kushner, the real-estate scion who until recently owned the New York Observer newspaper, has been pushing the issue with Time Warner executives including CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker. .....................

President Obama is a REAL man, not an overgrown child. What experience has Kushner ever had in politics? He is just feathering his own nest right now, maybe for a run for office in the future? I believe being associated with the tRump family will be a YUUGGE disadvantage going forward.

I've never felt CNN leaned left, it always seemed to lean right, to me. Now it may be centrist but I wonder why on earth he is going after them, did they personally offend Trump in some way?

No reason to believe they won't back down again.

They banned Kellyanne Conway and then a few days later, she was back on CNN. According to Bill Moyers, somebody high up at CNN reversed the ban.

to probe a little farther, to make that extra phone call to show Donald Schmuck what real journalism is.

This ain't business where Benedict Donald could bully small businessmen. Take on CNN and eventually the whole press will turn on him except for a couple. Ask Hillary what a hostile press can do.

What are his qualifications for discussing mass media...beyond what I would be able to do?

While I am suspicious whenever media outlets buy each other up and too much of the press power is concentrated with just a few companies, this talk of them stopping the deal makes me wonder what is up.
I am thinking the tRump family is perhaps considering getting into the major media market, just like how they buy up other types of companies and act like they have some sort expertise in the field. (wine, steaks, "universities&quot .

If Obama had said things like this about the press, I would have not taken it seriously. It is very petty and not much like a good president to accuse the media of the things this orange man has. If he wants to be believed (by anyone beyond his supporters) he should say "Station xyz has said this and here is the proof that that was not true". Nothing he is saying about the "fake media" has any substance to it, but his supporters are eating it up.
