Common Cause files complaint against Heineman (R-NE using his office to promote Romney)

LINCOLN — Common Cause Nebraska is accusing Gov. Dave Heineman of using his office to promote the candidacy of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

In a complaint filed Monday, the organization pointed to a press release issued by the Governor’s Office stating that the recent Supreme Court ruling on the federal health care law makes it “more important than ever that Mitt Romney be elected President of the United States.”

Jack Gould, the issues chair of Common Cause, said that the June 28 press release is in violation of a state statute that prohibits public officials from using “public resources” to campaign for the election of a candidate.

Gov. Dave Heineman disputed the allegation, saying it was “virtually impossible” to discuss the health care overhaul without mentioning the fall’s presidential election.

1. Heineman is an ass and in violation of state statute

should be personally fined and thrown in prison

2. In prison he could have access to Nebraskan's private information, including social security numbers
