Uzbek man gets nearly 16 years in prison for plot to kill Obama

(Reuters) - A federal judge sentenced an Uzbek man living illegally in the United States to nearly 16 years in prison on Friday on terrorism and weapons charges stemming from his plot to kill President Barack Obama.

Ulugbek Kodirov, who arrived in the United States in 2009 to attend medical school but never enrolled, had plotted to shoot Obama while the president campaigned for re-election this year, according to federal authorities in Alabama.

They said the 22-year-old man became "radicalized" through Internet research and believed he was acting on behalf of an Islamist militant group in his homeland.

"This case is an example of how our youth can be radicalized by misinformation and propaganda they see on the Internet," Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Whisonant said during a sentencing hearing in Birmingham.

When W. was in office I really was afraid someone might try to do something to him which would have been the worst thing that could have happened for Democrats or anyone who was not a W. supporter. Can you imagine what the Neo Cons would have been able to push through if that happened?

Somehow it does not seem the same for Obama. Freaking idiots are allowed to bring guns around him and say the craziest BS. What's the deal?

Ok, this is the scarey part. You see folks, its the Internet's fault. Because this one radicalized Muslim took things too far off of information he researched on the Internet, we've got to squash Net Neutrality laws and allow the Internet to be overseen and rationed out by our patriotic Corporate Overlords.

They use ANY story they can to slowly, drip by drip, use fear to wear away the public's resistance to harnessing the Internet and dividing it up for 3 or 4 corps.....who will make it very difficult for any of us to get onto DU and sites like it.
