Police probe suspicious device on plane at JFK

Source: CBS News

AP) NEW YORK - The bomb squad is investigating a report of a suspicious device found on board a plane at Kennedy International Airport.

New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said Delta Flight 126 bound for Madrid was evacuated shortly before scheduled takeoff at 7:30 p.m. Thursday after a U.S. Air Marshal on board noticed something that appeared to be a device with wiring. The bomb squad was called and is investigating the device.

It's not clear how many people were on the flight. A call to Delta was not immediately returned.

According to Delta.com...

B767-300
Original scheduled departure time from JFK: 7:35PM (12th)
Original scheduled arrival to MAD (Madrid): 9:15AM (13th)

Estimated departure from JFK: 1:00AM (13th)
Estimate arrival to MAD: 1:31PM (13th)

They were out of the gate about on time and seems that they were off the ground (they did have an "off" time)...then, back into the gate about 2 hours later.

"... for Madrid was evacuated shortly before scheduled takeoff at 7:30 p.m. Thursday after a U.S. Air Marshal on board noticed ..."
This information seems confusing but later clarification I assume will be coming...especially when the passengers start yak'n,
tweeting and texting about it.

CBS reported two people in custody but apparently it was just passengers who felt ill and were taken off the plane by authorities to an ambulance. No explosives found.
