Detroit News Detroit— The Windsor Tunnel has been shut down temporarily following an anonymous bomb threat, according to police.
The tunnel was shut down before 1 p.m. blocking traffic from Detroit and Windsor, according to the Windsor Police Department. Drivers are urged to find alternate routes.
The anonymous bomb threat was not specific.
There was no immediate comment from a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman.
As many as 29,000 vehicles travel through the tunnel every day, or 9 million a year. It is nearly one mile long.
