AT&T, T-Mobile Won’t Replace Galaxy Samsung Note 7 Phones After New Fires
Source: Wall Street Journal
AT&T Inc. and T-Mobile US Inc. said Sunday they will stop issuing new Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to replace the ones turned in by customers, further complicating a massive recall of the Samsung Electronics Co. devices and sowing confusion among consumers after multiple reports of the devices overheating.

Many more Samsung phones are catching fire all over the world. Two more airliners had to make emergency landings because of them.

(92,150 posts)three new incidents of the phones that were supposedly fixed show a valid issue, which I suspect they will, they will not have much choice, especially if Samsung is forced to recall them
However, from what I understand, ATT has halted all sales of the Note 7 so I am somewhat confused

(7,518 posts)AT&T, one of the biggest distributors of Samsung phones, said Galaxy Note 7 customers can return their phones for different models while Samsung and U.S. safety authorities investigate why several phones melted in the past week.
T-Mobile US Inc. said it is suspending all sales of the Note 7 and halting exchanges for replacement Note 7s. Customers can still bring in their Note 7 phones for a refund or different device.

The decision by the carriers to stop offering replacement Note 7s comes after U.S. phone carriers Friday said they would allow customers to replace their phones a second time.
So from what it looks like, AT&T and T-Mobile do not even trust Samsung's "fixed" version of the Note 7.

(16,191 posts)The V20 looks to be an incredible phone and is a natural alternative to the Note 7 for those looking to switch out of the Samsung clusterf*ck...but U.S. preorders don't begin for another week or so, and the phones won't actually be available for two weeks. This could have been one of the biggest sales coups in their history, and a chance to reclaim some relevance in the Android world, and they're gonna miss it completely.
Preorders for the Google Pixel start in just a couple of days, so Google might still end up getting a huge boost for their own line, if they can get it into customers hands quickly enough.

Wouldn't get an Android because of the spyware/Google adware, regardless.
