Exxon's CEO: Climate, energy fears overblown
Source: msnbc.com
ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson says fears about climate change, drilling, and energy dependence are overblown. In a speech Wednesday, Tillerson acknowledged that burning of fossil fuels is warming the planet, but said society will be able to adapt. The risks of oil and gas drilling are well understood and can be mitigated, he said. And dependence on other nations for oil is not a concern as long as access to supply is certain, he said. Tillerson blamed a public that is "illiterate" in science and math, a "lazy" press, and advocacy groups that "manufacture fear" for energy misconceptions in a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations. He highlighted that huge discoveries of oil and gas in North America have reversed a 20-year decline in U.S. oil production in recent years. He also trumpeted the global oil industry's ability to deliver fuels during a two-year period of dramatic uncertainty in the Middle East, the world's most important oil and gas-producing region. 1. Did he also mention that we have enough oil to last forever, no matter how much we grow?

2. And of course, his own "thinking" has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he can buy his way
|
out of whatever does happen. It is not necessary for him to be correct, so we should trust his opinion????
No necessity, no invention, just the same old cognitive ruts. |

The average Bubba with his still and his collection of deer rifles will be better off than Mr. CEO of Exxon.

How much money does Rex Tillerson need? Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, droughts are getting worse, 2,000 year old civilizations are going under water, and our own pentagon is making plans for a world where global warming has changed the game. Mr. Tillerson is welcome to come to Ohio and debate Ohio State's Lonnie Thompson (polar studies) about the climate. |

But this is not his concern. NOR that of the politicians. SO it is pointless to say by him. HE ONLY SAYS IT TO GET WHAT HE WANTS. He knows this. POLICIES must change...Then if he said this, I would believe he meant what he says. He misleads people. MORE PROPAGANDA BY DECEPTION. THEY ARE NOT OVERBLOWN: Exxon's CEO: Climate, energy fears overblown AND WE KNOW THIS. Meanwhile.....The Progression continues..... |

8. Of course. And the fact that half the West is on fire

Kansas is hotter than Saudi Arabia, and the nation's corn crop is being destroyed as we speak due to a record-breaking heatwave are all just coincidences.

20. keep paying 15% income tax for XOM, Rex, and we'll see how far your lies can go

As long as he can get away with XOM's paying less tax than a school teacher, he knows these lies will be repeated by his puppets.
