Donald Trump Defends Roger Ailes: ‘A Very, Very Good Person’

Source: Huffington Post

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump defended Roger Ailes on Sunday, calling the embattled former Fox News chief a “very, very good person.”

Ailes resigned as CEO on Thursday following a sexual harassment scandal that included dozens of women, including Fox News hosts Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, the latter of whom first broke her silence earlier this month.

In an interview that aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Trump declined to comment when asked to confirm reports that Ailes was advising his presidential campaign.

“But he’s been a friend of mine for a long time,” Trump added. “And I can tell you that some of the women that are complaining, I know how much he’s helped them. And even recently. And when they write books that are fairly recently released, and they say wonderful things about him.”

Well, seems like Trump is continuing with his political correctness attacks in minimizing the sexual harassment that lead to Ailes' ouster. This was an easy chance for Trump to pivot and condemn workplace harassment.

As long as the women are compliant and acquiescent, "he's helped them" and they say "wonderful things about him."

What's the problem?

Super creepy.

This was after the Kelly Trump clash. It was that "10 questions to" and it was Megyn Kelly. And she praised Ailes as much as she could. Now she joined the chorus.

A nice person? NO ONE believes that.

Ailes was Paid $40M to go away. That's how big a problem Ailes was to Fox. Maybe that 40 mill will help with his forever-more legal bills.

Given Trump's previous statements regarding letting someone else do the actual job -- if Trump is elected, does this mean Roger Ailes would be our de facto president? A very scary thought!

I think Trump sympathesizes with Ailes thinking that the dismissal of Ailes is due to political correctness.

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/279132-trump-women-get-it-better-than-men

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said on Saturday that women “get it better” than men.

Speaking at a rally in Spokane, Wash., Trump was railing against the criticism he gets for accusing Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton of playing the "woman card."

“I mean all of the men, we’re petrified to speak to women anymore. We may raise our voice,” he said. “You know what, the women get it better than we do, folks.

“Look, we’re living in the real world. This political correctness is killing our country."
