Moms fighting for gun control to join NYC Pride March

In a sign of the growing alliance between gun control advocates and the LGBT community, a large contingent of moms fighting for stricter firearms laws will be taking part in the city’s Pride March this year.

More than 200 volunteers with the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a part of the Everytown for Gun Safety organization backed by ex-mayor Michael Bloomberg, are expected to join the Sunday festivities in Manhattan.

The Orlando nightclub massacre — in which 49 people were killed in the nation’s worst mass shooting in history — has brought together gay rights and gun control groups.

“Guns make hate deadly,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action.
