Collins: Trump 'really has to change' approach to get her endorsement

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN) Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins said she won't endorse GOP presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump until he starts behaving more "presidential."

"I would love to be able to endorse Donald Trump, but he really has to change the approach that he's taken," she told CNN's Chris Cuomo on Wednesday on "New Day." "If I were giving him advice, I would tell him he should own up to making mistakes. He should apologize to the judge and to the American people. And he should stop insulting people."

Multiple Republican leaders have criticized Trump for comments he made suggesting that Latino and Muslim judges could not rule fairly because of their ethnicity and religion.

Trump on Tuesday said Republicans who are critical of his comments against a federal judge with Mexican heritage "have to get over it" and "they shouldn't be so angry for so long."

Donald, just act sane, you don't have to be sane to get my vote, just act (wink, wink) a little more sane to provide cover so a bunch of Repugs don't also lose because of your rank racism and misogyn.

People with a mental illness don't suddenly improve because people tell them to do so. If anything, the increased pressure from the campaign is going to exacerbate Trump's narcissistic personality disorder.

Have republicans lost their minds?

Donald Trump is an outrageous racist. We all see it.

Republicans must feel catharsis when Trump voices their thoughts.

Do republicans not recall when racist and sexist remarks from tea party candidates were used as ads attacking down ticket republicans?

Just try to put lipstick on that pig. No matter how much Trump tries to reinvent himself, if he even tries, Trump will still be a pig.
