Marco Rubio says he would come to the U.S. illegally if he had to
Source: ABC News
Hypothetically, if Marco Rubio were not an American citizen and could not provide food for his family, he says he would cross the border illegally to come to the United States. While discussing immigration policy in his new memoir, An American Son, Rubio called for "common decency" in dealing with undocumented immigrants and said that if put in a similar position as those who are fleeing destitution, he would break the law, too. "Many people who come here illegally are doing exactly what we would do if we lived in a country where we couldn't feed our families," Rubio writes in his book, which went on sale Tuesday. "If my kids went to sleep hungry every night and my country didn't give me an opportunity to feed them, there isn't a law, no matter how restrictive, that would prevent me from coming here." 1. Rmoney's Not Going to Win
|
the Latino/Hispanic vote regardless-- in spite of their talk.
Regarding Rubio-- I find his honesty, in this case, refreshing. |

2. I doubt Rubio is being seriously considered for the ticket.......

RMoney's rhetoric during the primaries on immigration will haunt him to election day. His refusal to answer whether he would rescind Obama's decision not to deport confirms his continued animosity on the subject. He says there would be no need to rescind the order because he would miraculously get Congress to come along and pass something he could live with that would make the order null and void.
He really doesn't know how Washington works does he? Even if the Pukes maintain control of the House and by some miracle take control of the Senate, the Dems in the Senate minority are likely to use the same tactics the Pukes have used and make progress on anything very difficult. Rubio in essence is thumbing his nose at the reich wing that say you have to punish those that come here illegally. He is in essence saying he really doesn't care about the rule of law. That is something that should be used in any re-election campaign for him in the Senate. My guess is RMoney might bring him into the Cabinet in some capacity as a way to show racial balance and as an olive branch to the Latino community. I don't know that community would accept that olive branch given RMoney's continued hard right pronouncements on the subject. |

9. Not necessarily.......
|
If Mittens is able to pull this off, I suspect Rubio is being eyed for a place in the Cabinet. I'm not sure what he is qualified to do other than just sit and look pretty but it wouldn't surprise me for racial balance and an outreach to Latino community.

10. It's too bad that what's on US Latin American TV
|
does get more reporting in the MSM. Jorge Ramos of Univision had an interview with Rubio yesterday, where he pointed out to Rubio that one of his (Rubio's) grandfathers came to the US illegally. Rubio had no answer for that. Univision has done a wonderful job on unmasking the Rethug's mealy-mouth attempts to sway Latin voters, but none of that ever reaches the non Spanish speaking news.
