Trump: Oakland among 'most dangerous places in the world'

Source: East Bay Times

OAKLAND -- Count Donald Trump as the latest person to compare Oakland to Brooklyn, but the presumptive Republican nominee wasn't talking about hipsters or the art scene.

Asked by The New York Times about the most dangerous place he ever visited, Trump first jokingly replied "Brooklyn" before turning his attention westward:

"There are places in America that are among the most dangerous in the world. You go to places like Oakland. Or Ferguson. The crime numbers are worse. Seriously."

Oakland's murder rate pales in comparison to several Latin American capitals, but it does perennially rank among the most dangerous cities in the U.S.

Some of it's "suburbs" are ranked high though.

Oakland is usually around the 10th most dangerous US city.
