1. that is so sad!

we just saw them last on the 6th in Cleveland. We got there early and were able to listen to an hour long sound check filling the Blossom Center, filling the whole park. Then the concert that night, magic, like the biggest circles in a ripple of water. It was a fantastic show. I am sorry for everyone.

3. One of my friends is a musician you have heard of,

He will NEVER play makeshift outdoor stages after an accident where one of his techs was injured, as far as he is concerned they should be banned. Or at least rendered uninsurable.

9. Stage built by non-union workers
|
Jim Brett, president of International Alliance Theatrical Stage Employees Local 58, said crew members working on the Downsview stage weren't members of his union. "The only thing I can confirm is that IATSE Local 58 was not involved with the building of the stage or supplying any labour for the concert," he wrote in an e-mail. "Regardless of who was involved, the stage collapse is a tragic event and we offer our most sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and our thoughts are with those who were injured." http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/victim-identified-in-toronto-stage-collapse-inspectors-begin-probe/article4299025/ Looks like the promoter was cutting corners using non-union labor. |
