Sinead O'Connor reportedly missing in Wilmette

Wilmette police are looking to check the well-being of Sinead O'Connor, who reportedly left the area for a bicycle ride at 6 a.m. Sunday and has not returned, police said in a statement.

"A caller has expressed concern for her well-being, and no other information is available at this time," the statement said.

Wilmette Police Chief Brian King said O'Connor was last seen riding a Raleigh motorized bicycle with a pink basket, and that she was last seen wearing a black parka, black leather pants and a sweatshirt with "Ireland" on the back.

King said she was last seen on the east side of the village. King said the department was alerted to the incident around 1 p.m. Sunday. The case has been assigned to detectives, who are following up leads, he said.
