Masked men attempt break-in at home of Penn. rep

Police say Debra Brady ignored a knock on the door at about 11am this morning. About an hour later, investigators say, her television signal went off when someone cut the TV cable and the wires for the burglar alarm.

According to Congressman Brady (D-Pa.), who spoke with KYW Newsradio, Mrs. Brady heard someone at the back door of the home in the 7000 block of Brentwood Road. When she opened a window blind and looked outside, one man was at the door and two others — all wearing surgical masks and hoodies — were sitting on the patio furniture.

“I was a wreck, I didn’t know what to do,” said Mrs. Brady.

She yelled and banged on the window from the inside, according to Rep. Brady, scaring them off. He says she called 911 from her cell phone and Phladelphia police responded immediately.
