Counter protesters arrested in clash with police at 'white power' rally in Georgia

At least eight counter protesters at a "white power" rally Saturday at Georgia's Stone Mountain were arrested as they clashed with police while trying to get inside the park.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the protesters were dressed in black and chanting, "Hey hey, ho ho, the KKK has got to go."

Hundreds are involved in the counter protest, WSB-TV reported, and police in riot gear continue to work to keep the peace.

AJC reported the counter-protesters were arrested after refusing to take off their masks. It is illegal to protest in Georgia while wearing a mask.

One protester was seen spraying a Georgia State Patrol officer with pepper spray. Others tussled with police.

"White trash" is a slur used by white racists against other white people. it's a way of asserting that a white person "isn't really white" or "is basically a n****r." That is to say, it's a slur against nonwhites as well, since they are being used as a negative basis of comparison by a white racist.

Maybe you didn't know, that's fine - it's not the sort of term most people have a lot of familiarity with. Still, probably shouldn't use it.

attempt at correcting my use of the slang term "white trash". Here in California, those who lean racist don't often use the term. "White trash", to Californians that I know ( a lot since I was born and raised here) means to suggest the following traits, including, but not limited to:

Heavy use of double negatives.
Greasy t-shirt and tattoos of flames.
Broken down cars in their yard.
Beer cans strewn about their house, yard and truck bed.
Confederate flag flying from their "vehicle".
Heavily oil-stained driveway.
Have multiple kids they can't afford.
Say "I seen that on the teevee."
Drink only Coors, Bud or Miller.
God, guns and trucks.
Southern conservatives.

Hope you happier now..just go away, scoot! And please stop butting into other peoples business or chiming in about how someone uses slang terms... give it a rest.

Where I come from, it's always meant a white person who "doesn't count as white" for one reason or another, a stand-in for when a white person wants to use the N-word, but the target happens to be white as well. It's intended as a way to "lower" a white person to "nonwhite" status, by those who think along lnes of race-based status.
