Bill Clinton Blames Millennials For Anger, Economy, Congress

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by etherealtruth (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Huffington Post

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Millennials, there’s a reason Americans are so anxious and angry in this election, Bill Clinton says. It’s you.

It’s no secret that Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been frustrated that younger people are flocking to Bernie Sanders, a septuagenarian democratic socialist.

But in a speech on Thursday to about 1,000 people in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the former president, who was stumping on his wife’s behalf, betrayed yet another frustration with younger Americans. He said the country would be in a much better place now if the youth had not been so apathetic and had voted six years ago, when the tea party wave put Republicans in charge of the House of Representatives.

Clinton got to that point by first praising the job President Barack Obama has done in bringing the country back while noting that incomes have stagnated for most people.

complaining.

It's the Clintons who need to shut up and stop complaining.

Hillary Clinton is the most negative, can't do Democratic candidate I have seen in my lifetime.

It's not just millenials that don't like her.

This is one septagenearian who is turned off by all her can'tdoism. Just complain, complain, complain.

Meanwhile Bernie dares to think big. And he knows where the money is buried. He served on the banking committee in the House for some time and is now, I believe, on the Budget Committee.

The Clintons should just go away and take their outdated, 20th century can'tdoit attitude with them.

What a way to unite the party and woo the Millenials and others to unite in November!

I'm with you... a Bernie Boomer who will never vote for a Clinton again. The 1990s are over and the Clinton Administration legacy (DLC, NAFTA, Telecommunications Act, Crime bill, Welfare Reform Bill, overturning Glass-Steagall) plus HRC's wake at State (Honduras, Libya, Syria) and her prior IWR vote have all been disastrous for the people of this nation and beyond.

In 1992, the Clinton-Gore campaign had a refrain about Bush-Quayle: "It's time for them to go."

Well, that fits the grifting, outdated, bought and paid for Clintons in 2016. They need to slither off

He's directly blaming - quote - "young people" for losing congress in 2010. These are the same "young people" who he had just described as people who "feel like they’ve played by the rules, went to school, they’re gonna graduate with debt they can’t repay, or they’ve already graduated with debt they can’t repay, and they may not ever get to do what they really wanted to do with their lives."

He is absolutely talking about millennials, Skittles. He's blaming us for Republicans winning in 2010. it's right there, plain as day, out of the man's own mouth, on video.

What about 1994, when repukes swept the House, Senate and state houses (ousting Mario Cuomo, Ann Richards, etc). Who ya gonna blame for that

Who initiated and co-founded the DLC. Whose administration pushed NAFTA and media consolidation through the Telecommunications Act, deepened poverty via Welfare Deform and with Wall Street buddies (Reuben, Summers, Greenspan) overturned FDR's Glass-Steagall ushering in the predicted financial collapse 10 years later?

Look in the fucking mirror! You and your Turd Way pals have been a disaster... a losing disaster

Now you and $hillary peddle the same swill: TPP, incrementalism, status quo. Trump will drag out all the old scandals and new ones about that slush fund known as the Clinton Foundation aka Whitewater on steroids!

Which is typical of mid-term elections, modern liberals and youth. However the Democratic Party did little bring out the vote, and didn't notice the Republican surge until October and then scrambled to blunt it, failing spectacularly.

Bill Clinton and the rest of the party leaders share the blame as the voters do for 2010.
