Bin Laden 'saved his money for jihad'

Osama bin Laden spent all his personal wealth on jihad, stinting on meat and electricity as luxuries so he could save his money to help fund terror attacks, according to recollections by his deputy and successor .

Yet, in the second of his Days With the Imam series of online videos, posted on Saturday, Ayman al-Zawahiri said Bin Laden would pay readily for hospitality for his guests – although the former al-Qaida leader lived mostly on bread and vegetables, he once invested in an entire herd of sheep to slaughter in case visitors came by.

Zawahiri, who became head of al-Qaida after Bin Laden was killed in a US raid last year, spoke conversationally while dressed in a white robe and turban.

Zawahiri is seen as lacking his predecessor's personal authority within the far-flung terror network, and may be trying to boost his popularity by emphasising his closeness to the more charismatic Bin Laden.

Think of what a fellow with that sort of commitment could have done using his brother's engineering companies to clear mines and build roads in Afghanistan, instead of keeping it a war zone for a decade.

after he sent out all the videos to help Shrub win the election, they stopped. I wonder how much Shrub paid him to make the videos at just the right times.

Obama is not even getting credit for killing Osama...Just like he is not getting credit for keeping us out of a depression or many of his other accomplishments...I have to wonder had Obama been a white boy if things would be different? Or maybe it is just Democrats in general don't get the credit they deserve while the Republicans manufacture fake success & then promote the fake success with stunts like "Mission Accomplished" & the press eats it up & so does the public. Obama on the other hand simply lays a wreath at Ground Zero & gets accused of "spiking the football"...And even worse the Republicans steal the credit from him with BS claims that torture led to killing Osama!

It is disgusting!
