Carly Fiorina Digs in on Claim That General's Retirement Was Due to Obama Dispute

Source: ABC News

GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said she did not misspeak during Tuesday night’s debate when she said that Gen. Jack Keane retired early because he “told President Obama things that he didn’t want to hear.”

But Keane, who served during the Bush administration, retired before Obama became president.

Keane, now a FOX News contributor, came forward to say that Fiorina got the facts wrong surrounding his retirement.

“No, I have never spoken to the president,” Keane said on FOX News. “That's not accurate, and I never served this administration. I served the previous administration.”

Most normal people, when they make a howler like that, have the decency to be embarrassed by it and would leap at the chance to wiggle out of it gracefully by claiming that they "misspoke" if they didn't have the grace to just admit that they were wrong. But with her and Trump we have now entered a world in which candidates for the most powerful job in the country--and arguably the most powerful job in the world--feel no need to even be informed about the issues, let alone to tell the truth. What is worse is that the media almost never calls them on it.

I find this development terrifying; I don't know how I am going to make it to the next election with my sanity intact.

seem to stuck emotionally at age 8 or 9 years old. They behave like willful children who get upset when they get caught being dishonest, but are incapable of admitting they are wrong.

Yes, the media should be jumping all over them when they tell blatant lies. Once those lies are out there, the base will keep repeating them and you'll never convince them that they aren't true. Republican politicians have figured that out and now feel like they can say anything they want and not be held accountable.

I thought the last presidential primaries were totally insane. I never dreamed it could get worse. Does this mean the next one will be even more crazy?

because it was his DOJ that prosecuted him. They deem the prosecution as essentially elective--they could have just ignored his transgression and let him go on serving in the administration. He's another conservative victim to them

... are the glue that holds Fiorina's fantasy world together. If she got a drop of truth on her, she would scream, "I'M MELTING! I'M MELTING!" She really is a repulsive excuse for a human being.

BTW, I like your avatar! Is that from the Mothers of Invention's "Sheik Yerbouti" album? Zappa was a genius!

When the general himself says he didn't even serve in the Obama administration, it's time to throw in the towel and admit it's BS. No wonder HP went to hell so quickly. Carly can't distinguish fact from the fiction she creates in her head.
