Water inside Fukushima No. 1 reactor may be only 40 cm deep
Source: Kyodo news
Water inside Fukushima No. 1 reactor may be only 40 cm deep An analysis by the Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization has shown that the level of the water filling the crippled No. 1 reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant may be far lower than estimated by plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co., officials of the organization said Tuesday. The organization of nuclear experts estimated that the water in the primary containment vessel is only 40 centimeters deep. The utility known as TEPCO has estimated the water level to be about 1.9 meters. Not disputed is the fact coolant water injected into the reactor is leaking as a result of the accident at the plant. JNES officials noted there are ''uncertainties'' in their analysis. Read more: http://english.kyodonews.jp/news/2012/05/159560.html

3. So it may be okay then.....

Some reports I have seen say the cores may be a half mile deep at this point so really no need for cooling water as there is nothing to cool. In all seriousness, the extreme circumstances at No.3 reactor may be derived from the fact that they said they may have the "endoscopy" of the reactor done by the end of the year. End of the year? WTF?

7. Not only that.."Unit 2 completely liquified, 100% liquification of uranium core —"

Physicist: Unit 2 completely liquified, 100% liquification of uranium core —
“We’ve never seen this before in the history of nuclear power” (VIDEO) http://enenews.com/professor-shocked-core-completely-liquified-left-hook-remaining-collapsed-core-chernobyl-partial-meltdown-video CNN video: "KAKU: In the last two weeks, everything we knew about that accident has been turned upside down. We were told three partial melt downs, don’t worry about it. Now we know it was 100 percent core melt in all three reactors. Radiation minimal that was released. Now we know it was comparable to radiation at Chernobyl. ROMANS: In your view, did they not know how bad it was or they knew and didn’t tell KAKU: We knew it was much more severe than they were saying, because radiation was coming out left and right. So in other words, they lied to us. " http://inthearena.blogs.cnn.com/2011/06/21/fukushima-still-a-ticking-time-bomb/ |
