Calls for day of mourning ahead of Jamar Clark's funeral today
Mourners gathered at the Shiloh Temple International Ministries Wednesday for the visitation service beginning at 10 a.m. and the noon funeral service for Clark.

The Minneapolis Urban League and Jamar Clark’s family are asking for protests to be put on hold Wednesday for the funeral of the 24-year-old black man fatally shot by police.

The league is calling for a day of mourning and peace after a day of anger and shock gripped the north Minneapolis community when five protesters were shot near the Black Lives Matter demonstration Monday night.

Mourners gathered at the Shiloh Temple International Ministries Wednesday for the visitation service beginning at 10 a.m. and the noon funeral service for Clark. At the visitation service, leaflets detailing Clark’s life were handed out describing the man who was the youngest of ten children and liked to swim, fish, listen to music and take trips to Charlotte, N.C.

On Tuesday, nearly 1,000 people marched to City Hall in the aftermath of Monday’s shooting..................
