Defense Secretary Removes Top Aide Over Alleged Misconduct

Source: ABC NEWS

Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced today that he has removed one his top military advisers due to allegations of misconduct.

"Today I made the decision to remove my Senior Military Assistant Lieutenant General Ron Lewis from his position after learning about allegations of misconduct," Carter said in a written statement.

Carter did not immediately explain the alleged misconduct and a Pentagon official familiar with the issue cited legal limitations that prevented the Defense Department from discussing it further. Lewis had been serving as Carter's senior military assistant.

Carter said he has referred the incident to the Pentagon Inspector General for further investigation and said "the Department of the Army will then take action as appropriate."

that I learned in basic training is Be My Little General with the first letter of each word coinciding with the general ranks:

B = Brigadier - one star
M = Major - two star
L = Lieutenant - three star
G - General - four star

I have a nephew who is a General and the day he graduated from WP I told him that he should never expect me to remember military ranks, its just not my thing.

BMLG, BMLG, BMLG,
Got it!

btw - looks like Lt Gen. is just a temporary rank as needed for the position.

He's black, and he's under investigation: which means either sex, or money, or maybe violence? Conduct unbecoming an officer covered a lot of ground in olden days...
