CHRISTIE: I'd Rather JUMP OFF A BRIDGE Rather Than Be In Congress !
Source: Miami Herald
The Associated Press
Chris Christie wants to come to Washington. Just don't ask him to make the leap from governor of New Jersey to Capitol Hill legislator.
How strongly does the Republican presidential candidate feel? "I would rather jump off the Brooklyn Bridge than be in Congress."
During an interview with ABC's "This Week," Christie plunged into his accomplishments in a heavily Democratic state and said his record shows he can unite the GOP.
Christie then mused, "Maybe they should send me the House caucus to try to help them with that."
The Republican-run House is in turmoil after conservatives pushed out Speaker John Boehner, and there's now an internal leadership fight.
A joke about whether Christie was running for speaker drew his attention to the span over New York's East River.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) A drenching rain soaked most of New Jersey on Saturday, spurring minor flooding in some areas and washing a Jersey shore home into the water.
The storm had also caused scattered power outages throughout the state, with about 2,500 utility customers having no service as of early Saturday night. The rains had also slowed down traffic on the state's major roadways, including the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike, but no major travel issues were being reported.
The wet weather was expected to continue through the weekend, and a coastal flood warning for the state was due to remain in effect until Sunday evening. About 2 inches of rain had fallen in most areas since Wednesday, and forecasters said another 1 to 2 inches was possible by Sunday night.
Coastal communities were bearing the brunt of the storm, as the heavy rains and high tides battered the region. But the rains there had eased in most areas by late Saturday afternoon.
No fatalities were being blamed on the storms, but they did dislodge an entire house from its pilings in a low-lying area of Middle Township in southern Jersey. The remnants of the home could be seen in Grassy Sound after daybreak Saturday, and residents there were bracing for the possibility of moderate flooding Saturday afternoon.

But the picture gives a visual of how badly Christie wants the public to view him with high esteem. Grandiose as it will seem ,he needs it blown up in over sized ways to satisfy his own periods of low self esteem related to his weight issues and his deep rooted feelings of detachment or that of being on the outside of the norm. You see for Christie since as far back back as his forever ,it's never been cool to be Chris Christie.
So when Christie is out on the trail spreading his talking points about waking up everyday as an outsider in a democratic controlled state, he seems believable and he believes himself but that is because he has always been an outsider. you see when it's not all about him,he is just an outsider standing in the side lines. It 's just not and never has been cool to be Chris Christie. It's a short coming he was born with and he thinks and believes he has turned it into a political asset.
Truth be known, surgery cannot fix that problem.
And that is just what those Bushys knew when they picked Christie for the job that saved his political neck !
When he was on the job for the Bush, all he had to do was fallow the directive, thats what he learned as the U.S. attorney general of New Jersey ! They also knew that Christie came equipped with a built in self destruct mechanism which would serve the party later on in time when it all goes to his head ,maybe even gets elected governor of New Jersey ,they can use him there, that is until he does the unthinkable -runs for president !
Those in the GOP party know must be sitting back having a good laugh at that built in self destruct mechanism knowing it is set to time release ! The funny thing is ,Christie thinks he is in control !
Christie thinks they picked him because he is party faithful and a real can do guy !
That too is very funny.
He really really wishes to to be cool or at least to be able to seem so.
If he could just fool somebody that is really cool long enough for him put his ever famous Christie hug on it in the hopes that some real coolness would wear into him !
That's always been his problem. And that why he is and always will be an outsider.
Now the general on the other hand thinks cool or coolness is associated with air conditioning units or keeping a cool head.
It's about perception.
By the way, the general doesn't like Bruce springsteen's music or Bruce at all because the general sees himself and himself only as supreme boss. Unless of course he's riding high with the big one in a business suit.
See Christie trying to be funny ,he can take a joke and make a joke out of a joke ,get lemons ,make lemon aid all that.

(3,426 posts)As odds will have it it is highly unlikely the same thing will happen the same way in the same place. it is however possible the same thing can happen in a different time ,a different place with a different end which may or may not be a greater gain.
Christie gained considerably as a result of hurricane sandy, and took the fall as a result of the George Washington bridge scandal ,although the Bridge gate as it is called is just one of many dirty deeds Christie and his gang of thugs do and have done.
Christie desperately is wanting to be jettisoned back up into the national lime light and capitalizing off of tragedy is far form beneath Chris Christie.
But Christie is no fool playing the evil odds.
The Brooklyn Bridge is the only other nationally known bridge in his turf areas, it's an open ticket . A way of distancing himself from the George Washington Bridge bad publicity that hit the gang of thugs hard.
Or you would think the bridge joke was Christie's way of getting out in front his problem- turning a negative into a positive through humor in a republican friendly setting.
Make no mistake ,Christie believes somehow how ,some way through some kind of tragedy, he will be propelled back into national fame in some kind of distorted trumped up way about it.
He's a thug, always looking for ways to get it over on people- more Or Less.

(3,426 posts)New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) called Donald Trump's position on Syria "painfully naive" on Sunday, slamming him for welcoming Russian President Vladimir Putin's intervention in that country.
Christie suggested on ABC's "This Week" that Trump's apparent support for Russian airstrikes amounted to "agreeing with Barack Obama."
"Only Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton could mess up this foreign policy that badly," the Republican presidential candidate added. "And anybody who agrees with allowing the Russians into the Middle East is just painfully naive."
In truth, President Obama has been extremely critical of Putin's actions in Syria, refusing to cooperate with the Russian military campaign and faulting Putin for not recognizing that Syrian President Bashar Assad is "the problem here." The Obama administration has said that it's coordinating with Russia only to avoid accidentally shooting down one another's planes in Syria.
Christie rejected any suggestion that Putin could be an asset to the U.S. in its fight against the Islamic State. "We know Putin's not fighting ISIS," Christie said. "Putin's there to prop up Assad."
Russia's escalating involvement in Syria is a threat to American security and interests in the Middle East, Christie argued.
