Exclusive: Joe Biden backers hiring staff in more states in hopes of 2016 run
Source: Reuters
The political action committee backing the vice president, Draft Biden, has begun building operations in 11 states holding primary elections on "Super Tuesday" in March 2016, two of the group's officials told Reuters, an important series of votes for any candidate seeking their partys nomination.
Draft Biden doesn't have a firm number for how many staff in total it will hire in those states, said Josh Alcorn, a senior advisor to the group, but the recruitment process is under way.
Whatever the number, adding paid staffers in the 11 states suggests a growing confidence within Draft Biden that Biden will mount a challenge to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, the front runners for the Democratic presidential nomination.

They hired field organizers to get Warren in the race even thought she said a million times she wasn't running.

(93,898 posts)He's smart enough to know that the odds are still long, and he'd rather go out as a respected VP than as a three time Presidential loser.

(249 posts)His heart isn't in it. I know you're a Hillary supporter and Bernie is the long shot. He's a sniper with a "one shot, one..." -long shot. It's not about Bernie. It's about a movement. Bernie's just the embodiment -like e.g. MLK Jr. (Obama was a false start -with all the hope and change stuff.) All of history is people who get the credit for being the "leaders" of a movement. Women's rights, civil rights, gay rights, etc. Bernie is riding the train of an organic movement, Occupy Wall Street (first), Anti TPP, Keystone, global warming, citizens united, etc. (second), gay rights (third) and Bernie is the embodiment (fourth) -and it won't stop. You win some you lose some but it continues. We'll see where it ends -but it's not over by a long shot. The 1% and Monopoly "game" capitalism are screwed and they just don't realize it. (corporations may be "people" with unlimited $ -but they can't vote, they can't vote!)
Biden is just some DNC raw hamburger to the nervous middle. If you see Biden enter, it's the end. The DNC will throw the race to Jeb. There is little difference in policy between GW Bush, BH Obama, and Hillary. It's a continuation of the illusion of choices. Nader was right it's a choice between "Tweedledee and Tweedledum". Even Al Gore didn't contest the election- he won! He won! He just conceded. That was our first wake up call.

(2,805 posts)I have met him several times. I think his heart is in the right place.
I am not sure he is the best candidate because of health factors. He is 70+ and has had two brain aneurysms. He just isn't isn't as sharp as he has been in the past. I would support him but wouldn't be confident that he was the best choice.

(14,881 posts)Benghazi committee...any one of these has the potential to trigger a collapse in support from her 1% base.
He *won't* announce before a major Hillary crash and burn, though. He doesn't want derailing the "first female president" to be his legacy.
All imo, of course.
