GOP Newsletter In Virginia Advocates For Armed Rebellion If American People Re-Elect President ObamaLast edited Wed May 9, 2012, 12:49 PM USA/ET - Edit history (5) This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by azurnoir (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum). GOP Newsletter In Virginia Advocates For Armed Rebellion If The American People Re-Elect President Obama The Republican Party seems to already be sensing that they will be miserably defeated on Election Day this November. So as a back-up plan, a Republican newsletter in Virginia is openly calling for violently overthrowing the duly elected government of the United States should Democrats still be in charge. The newsletter, known as “The Constitutional Conservatives” was published in March by the Greene County, Virginia Republican Committee and it included a column titled “Whitehouse Watchdog” written by editor Ponch McPhee. In the column, Mcphee trashed President Obama and said that if the American people fail to elect a Republican government, conservatives should arm themselves and take back the government by force. Here’s the text via Right Wing Watch.
This isn’t the first time that Republicans have threatened armed rebellion if they lose a legal election. Back in 2010 Nevada Senate candidate Sharon Angle suggested “second amendment remedies” if the election didn’t go well for the GOP. And then there’s Texas GOP congressional candidate Stephen Broden. He stated that armed insurrection was “on the table” if voters didn’t elect Republicans in 2010. During that election year, Republicans basically held the American electorate hostage by threatening death and violence if the election didn’t go the way Republicans wanted it to. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws. Seditious words in writing are seditious libel. A seditionist is one who engages in or promotes the interests of sedition. Typically, sedition is considered a subversive act, and the overt acts that may be prosecutable under sedition laws vary from one legal code to another. Where the history of these legal codes has been traced, there is also a record of the change in the definition of the elements constituting sedition at certain points in history. This overview has served to develop a sociological definition of sedition as well, within the study of state persecution. The difference between sedition and treason consists primarily in the subjective ultimate object of the violation to the public peace. Sedition does not consist of levying war against a government nor of adhering to its enemies, giving enemies aid, and giving enemies comfort. Nor does it consist, in most representative democracies, of peaceful protest against a government, nor of attempting to change the government by democratic means (such as direct democracy or constitutional convention). Sedition is the stirring up of rebellion against the government in power. Treason is the violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or state, giving aid to enemies, or levying war against one's state. Sedition is encouraging one's fellow citizens to rebel against their state, whereas treason is actually betraying one's country by aiding and abetting another state. Sedition laws somewhat equate to terrorism and public order laws. Perhaps a better solution would be to declare that people engaging in Sedition are no longer entitled to the protections of law enforcement, so if anyone feels threatened by these people, they will face no repercussions if they defend their country against them. It would sort of be fighting speech with speech. |

11. Greene County? No surprise.

Last edited Wed May 9, 2012, 01:20 PM USA/ET - Edit history (3) When I saw that this came from Greene County, I immediately thought of the "racial-nationalist" Kevin Alfred Strom.
Arrest, conviction, prison and release Years ago, I briefly lived in Earlysville. Fellow residents included George Allen, who now lives near Mount Vernon. Earlysville is hardly any distance from Stanardsville, the county seat of Greene County. Kevin Alfred Strom's website used to have pictures of him next to an old Cadillac in front of the county courthouse. I don't see those pictures at his website now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earlysville,_Virginia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanardsville,_Virginia Kevinalfredstrom.com http://www.kevinalfredstrom.com/ http://www.kevinalfredstrom.com/art/v/personal/ The ARRL still gives the address of record for his call sign, WB4AIO, as Earlysville. Strom shows up frequently at the Google group rec.radio.shortwave. |

16. Green County
|
Green County has changed dramatically over the past 10 years. It is now becoming a bedroom community for the City of Charlottesville. This guy is not only upset at Obama but I guarantee you he is upset at the fact that his good ole county is getting a lot more urban and therefore a lot more "liberal" then he would like. The Charlottesville area is one of the areas that helped carry Obama in Virginia in 2008 and it will be in play in November as well. It saddens me that the state that I grew up in and still live in has such nut bags running around. I have always feared that a second term for Obama will involve some sort of attempt on his life because some of these nut bags have worked themselves into such a frenzy that they will take such a drastic step.

Let's see, a teabagger society:
No protection from corporate exploitation Health care only for those that can afford it No taxes, so everytime you want to drive on ANY stretch of road you have to pay a fee No public schools Fire departments that only come if you pay them Police that only come if you pay them No environmental protection Jail for those who have sex out of wedlock No abortions The Ten Commandments posted pretty much everywhere Guns all over the fucking place And finally, the red state anti tax loons would actually have to pay their fair share and stop mooching off the blue states. Sounds a lot like the Articles of Confederation to me, and we all know how well those worked. I give such a state ten years tops. And I think, I'm being VERY generous with that estimate. |

You forgot Public Water, Sewer, Libaries. Parks, sidewalks, Court Systems. Also the return of debtor prisons if you can't pay your bills. The teabaggers havent a clue just how bad it would be if they let their corporate masters have thier way.
