7. I always hated his crappy schlock

along w/ his marketing and links to Christianity T.K. was a con man.

I had ex in laws who loved his stuff and although I wish them well I always felt
that they were being had w/ his faux art but T.K. tapped into a vein of middle America
who liked to be welcomed and warmed by his "art."

8. From what it sounds...

Kincade did the Christian stuff as an act.

In fact his wife and his mistress are in a legal row right now about his fortune.

And like too many people, he was taking too many prescription drugs and washing them down with booze.
Whitney Houston died this way also.

12. People mix this crap, and that is it..

The actor who played the Joker, had a great career going, mixed a number of drugs similar to Valium, and that was it..
People think this stuff is harmless...Well it ain't..it kills...

20. Heath Ledger.

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heath_Ledger#Autopsy_and_toxicology_report

One hell of a mix.

33. I love bob ross

I dont care what anyone says lol. I dont like his work, but see how middle america does. He was very kind and I watched him when he was on in the seventies. Kincade was a hypocrite and phony... fake christian niche- artist, anti drug use- drug user. I see why he is popular, and even some of his paintings strike the "home" response... but there is always something just a little "off" in each of his paintings I have seen.

6. Yeah, REAL funny...

I happened to enjoy Kinkade's paintings.

Can I make a "joke" like this about Whitney Houston?
Show her house and call it a "drug house?"

Or will it be like it is when I debate right-wingers?
"Oh that's different!"

Thousands die from the drugs and booze combo.
They fall asleep at the wheel, pass out
... and then others die too..

39. While it's sad that he or anyone would die like that

it doesn't change the fact of his art and why so many dislike it, Or the fact that he was a con man and a lot of people lost their life savings purchasing franchise art galleries. His work was also shopped out to different assembly line painters, he did not paint each picture.

And in a lot of the paintings, the perspectives off. Makes me crazy.

Happens to so many. Booze and smack get a lot of people too. Booze and just about anything really, or just booze.

I lost count of the dead show-biz people that went down that road.

Booze and religion, and selling that religion.. don't mix..
add Valium Xanax or some strong pain killer....and the results are this story..
and we are talking about many, many people..sad..

Instead, Big Pharma and alcohol did him in. Caroline Casey calls that the war on dreams.

These benzos are so quickly addictive ... tolerance builds and the anxiety gets to an unbelievable level, so many people do chase them down with alcohol just to get any effect. I feel really bad for him.

Response to marble falls (Reply #36)

Mon May 7, 2012, 10:45 PM

40. Uh .......... ok.

The thing is ........ many doctors who prescribe these drugs have no idea how quickly tolerance and inter-dose withdrawal can happen if used longer than the recommended 4 weeks, and the symptoms of the disorder they were originally prescribed for, are magnified a thousand times. The depression, insomnia and anxiety reach unbearable levels, and self-medicating with alcohol or other drugs is the only relief some can find. They don't realize it's the meds making them sicker. Getting off them is extremely difficult and can be deadly .... doctors also don't want to deal with this. They either keep prescribing and upping the dosages, or cut them off completely ... anyone who has seen someone in cold-turkey benzo withdrawal can tell you its as bad, or worse than heroin w/d. For many people, an addiction to benzodiazepines is literally a 24 hr. a day non-stop hell.
