Wahington Navy Yard: claims of active shooter today

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by petronius (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: WUSA tv 9

Since about 7:30, the Navy Yard has been on lockdown. There are claims of an active shooter.

Parts of South Capitol Street (from M to I) and 11th Street SE are closed. Expect closures to expand.

Expect total hassles if you have to get to downtown DC, area military bases, etc.

More as it is reported.

The bases I've been on lately (and I was on one the day before yesterday) seem to be operating at a higher threatcon.

Can't believe this is happening again--hope it's not like the last one.
